Addendum: A note on videogame Crash

Videogame Crash takes inspiration from the myth of Icarus. As a myth, its core is a story, a textual component, hence, its visual representation through history can only be imagined.

With the advent of Photography and Cinema, our perception has been enhanced by  images taken from the Real - they become a media, a link between reality and our mind. Studies on language especially done by Charles Peirce have come to distinguish them as indexical, symbolic and iconic sign.

In a contemporary world immerged by images, we feast upon these photographic signs at every lived moment; and as a feedback loop, especially for iconic photos, they also nurture our imagination, our representations of myths, both consciously and unconsciously.

This mechanism is embedded in the gameplay, which involves of the airplane hitting skyscraper, creates a real tension for player, while attempting to convey an experience beyond the game “Crash”, and then a dramatic urgency for a real change.
